Subject: Death of Clayton Orr
[Summary of article, with quotes]: Clayton Orr, a young widower employed by Crown Cotton Mills, fell or stepped off a moving train as it came into the station at Tunnel Hill, falling through a trestle. He died immediately, having broken his neck and crushed his skull. The train was a northbound Western and Atlantic bound for Chattanooga. Onlookers had seen him let go; some surmised that he meant to purchase a ticket at Tunnel Hill, inadvertently stepping off the platform while the train was still 'going at a rapid rate of speed.' He was killed on Saturday [estimate: 20 December 1913]. Funeral services and interment were Monday in nearby Dalton (Second Baptist Church, North Dalton; Rev. Joe Maples officiating; burial at West Hill Cemetery). Orr's wife had died 'a short time' previous to his fatal accident; and his father, Mr. Orr, had died in an accident at Tunnel Hill (being kicked by a mule) several years before.
