Other:
Mrs. Frank Pritchett,  mentioned above, is  in a 1919 obituary as a surviving daughter of Mrs. Sarah Malinda Springer, who died in Texas and was brought back to Georgia for burial. Cross-referencing shows that she married Columbus F. Pritchett on 22 December 1909, Dalton, Whitfield, Georgia, United States.

[Source]: Whitfield County, Georgia, Probate Court Records, Marriage Book F, page 374: Columbus F. Pritchett, male, married Myrtle B. Springer on 22 Dec. 1909.

So far, Columbus Frank Pritchett's parents remain unknown. His birth and early childhood falls into the 1890 census gap. By the time he appears in census, he is a grown man with a family of his own.

Birth of Charles Franklin Springer (err., Chas. Wanklie Springer)

Birth of Charles Franklin Springer, but with a name error in the county birth registry.

Chas. Wanklie Springer in Ohio Births and Christenings, 1821-1962: record book original page 186 (digital image 143 of 231), birth no. 507.

Birth: 16 February 1866, Christian, Illinois, United States

________

This is Charles Franklin Springer (of Ohio; later of Dalton, Whitfield, Georgia), as indicated by cross-referencing of various sources. 'Wanklie' could be a sound-alike error, with ths name being misunderstood by the original clerk or registrar; or it could be a misinterpretation of handwriting from the original certificate or old register. The registry itself is clearly handwritten by a single hand--a clerk. Thie name clearly shows 'Wanklie' in that register. It is not a transcription error.
