Reenlistment: Reenlisted as Veteran Volunteer.

Disability: amputation received in battle. [Note: Actually, the amputation was surgical, after battle]

Final Honorable Discharge: 13 July 1865, Detroit, Michigan.

[Neither had been previously married; not divorced; never remarried].

Genealogy Notes: Robert McDougall, born in Scotland. Immigrated to America, moved to Woodbridge, Hillsdale, Michigan. Enlisted as a private in Company G, Second Michigan Cavalry Vols, Hillsdale, Michigan. Promoted to Corporal, was a division scout. Wounded, shot in left knee by rebels during a scouting expedition from Cleveland, Tennessee, into northern Murray County, Georgia. Cared for by Polly Headrick (widow of old Jacob Headrick). Left leg amputated by surgeon. Robert McDougall survived the war and later married Agnes P. McDougall on 3 September 1867. He and his family later resided in Monrovia, California.
